The SER 10 regulator is designed for residential and light commercial applications. Its unique two-stage design provides utilities with increased safety and accuracy in medium pressure service lines. It has all the features required by the German DVGW code of practice. A wide choice of connections allows SER 10 regulators to replace larger residential regulators. The SER 10 regulator is a double-stage, direct-acting regulator with two independent spring loaded units built together in series. It includes an internal relief and a safety shut-off device and is fitted with an inlet strainer. When the outlet pressure exceeds or drops below the set pressure (UPSO the safety shut-off valve cuts the gas flow, which remains closed until the valve is manually reset.) An internal relief valve ensures that the safety shut-off valve is not triggered in the event of thermal expansion, transient surges of pressure and creep leaks from the regulator. Additionally, an excess flow protection valve closes in the event of high flow or low inlet pressure. It reverts automatically to the open position when conditions are back to normal. Other safety options include safety diaphragm and emergency closing in case of first stage failure
